Bible Club

This club provides mentorship on social issues and feeds the spiritual aspect of the youth using the Bible as guide. It operates as both organized virtual and interactive Bible study with scheduled meeting dates. Young people can ask questions virtually on social issues that can be discussed in a casual and welcoming environment. The Bible club also includes organized bible contest between individuals and churches to test bible knowledge and engage young people in friendly competition. These contests will encourage bible study and benefit individuals and/or youth ministries.

  • Hi Bible Club Members-
Great first meeting to begin the Bible Club and Bible Bee Summer Study.

With ages ranging from 5 to 17 this time, I particularly liked how every member shared their ways of memorizing scripture or anything ranging from drawing it out to visualize it, learning in the evening so it stays with you when you go to bed and you remember it in the morning, turning it into a song, reviewing and repeating over and over again, taking notes, using audio and so on.

Most importantly, don’t forget to PRAY for Gods direction and understanding as you review, study and memorize. If there are any questions, add to the comment section and our team of Bible Club leaders will try to answer within 24 hours. We are here to help.

We’re super excited you’re a part of this. Now get to work.. 🙂

    • Thanks for posting Elizabeth. Our faith will definitely be tested and knowing Gods word and remembering it will help us put our faith into action. Great job!!!

  • You should have a true religion by following God’s law. And don’t just read it and forget it. You should read it and apply it and live it.

  • Hi Bible Club Family-

Great turnout at today’s meeting. Thanks so much for all those able to join.. we were only missing one person so hopefully she can join next week.

The following is a recap and some reminders and tools –

    – Always pray before you start, assign study time in your day, highlight and memorize from your memory verse list.

    – We study and meditate to fill our minds and spirit with God’s word and apply it in our lives with the power and help of the Holy Spirit

    – use your memorization style eg study and repeat over and over again, make flash cards, draw it out to remember, do post it notes, repeat late at night

    – We read James 1 today on the line and learned several lessons like asking for wisdom, perseverance, not getting angry, listening, being authentic and doing/applying God’s word

    – Access http://www.stickuniverse.com at least once a week and post lessons you learned from today’s conference line bible study from James Chapter 1 and post any questions you have too

    – Access your dashboard from biblebee.org for your Discovery Journal, memory flash cards, cross reference list, Greek words list etc call me if you can’t access

    – I sent this earlier but if you haven’t see it.. this is a nice overview of James
    https://youtu.be/qn-hLHWwRYY

Other tools besides your Bible :

    – Download the Bible app if you don’t have it and go to NIV version ( highlight all your memory verses in different color)
    – Blueletterbible.org for Greek word search
    – Discovery Journal (you should be on unit 4 this week but take your time to understand and ask questions if any
    – Another Helpful tool in Bible study suggested by the Bible bee google + community is
https://scripturetyper.com – I just tried this and it is so helpful

*** Next Meeting via conference call remains at 7pm next Monday for week 5
Please study, and come with your Bible. Be prepared to share new memory verses you have learned. We will also read and discuss from the book of James for a better understanding.

  • Hi Bible Club Members-

Great Job everyone during our last meeting. You’ve all made some progress with your Summer Study. Every little bit helps regardless of where you are. Kudos on learning some of the greek words too. They are a lot easier to remember if you associate them with something.. keep studying.

With regards to our bible study, we went over James 2 and the first half of Chapter 2:1-13 talks about not showing favoritism while the other half from James 2:14-26 talks about faith without works being dead. We gave several examples about showing your faith and tied it all together with the golden rule and words of Jesus. The number 1 & 2 greatest commandments according to Jesus was in –
Matthew 22:37-40 “And He said to him, “ ‘YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.’ “This is the great and foremost commandment. “The second is like it, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.’ “On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.”

We talked about practical ways to apply our faith e.g. sharing our knowledge with a friend that is struggling with school work or sharing lunch when someone else does not have, treating everyone with kindness etc… Lets all continue to practice these things and more.

***Lastly our Proclaim Day is tentatively scheduled for August 4th or 5th. Please let me know via text or phone call what day works best for you and we’ll plan accordingly.

Keep studying and catch up if you’re behind schedule. Use all your tools e.g. your Discovery Journal, Your Bible app audio and scripture typer for memorization, blueletterbible.org to look up greek words etc. Again, always pray for wisdom, knowledge and understanding before you study Gods word and He will answer…consistency and commitment to a time of the day also helps.

Take care everyone till we meet next Monday at 7pm. We will continue with James 3, talk about the greek words and some cross references.
    God bless you all 🙂

  • You guys are doing a great job with memory verses! Remember you are awesome and this is what God thinks of you! And so do I!

  • Read to understand your memory verses this will help you remember! Senior members challenge yourself, dig a little deeper and apply the verses to yourselves.

    Keep up the great work!

  • My thoughts about James chapter 3 is that you can do many things with your tongue. You can either hurt someone with it or you can make someone feel good.

  • In james 4 it is telling you submit to God. And also telling you should say by God’s will not saying we are going to the park tomorrow. But say by God’s will i am going to the park tomorrow.

    • Very true Ruth.. Great example… James 4 teaches us not to be boastful about tomorrow but be confident in God.. everything is according to Gods will by grace.

  • In James chapter 4 it tells us that we should submit to God and resist the devil and he will go away and God will come closer to you and you will come closer to him

  • I am so proud of all of you. Your memory verse recitals were so impressive at today’s meeting. Your knowledge of the Greek words was also spot on!!! I am sure God is looking down on you with a big smile. God bless you all and add unto you. Keep up the great work, keep studying and don’t forget that as you learn and hide these memory verses in your heart, the application in your lives is even more important 🙂

  • Wow, eight weeks! You have done a great job. Keep practicing your memory verses…Keep trying, it will take time. Don’t get discouraged and don’t give up…….you will get it over time.

  • Remember what Bella said to you……she knows from experience! Have the right heart as you complete your verses. God wants you to know Him….He loves you so much. Run after Jesus. Set your mind on Jesus.

  • Great job with your greek words today. Awesome work. I are almost speaking another language! 🙂
So proud of all of you.

Remember not only study the verses but apply them to your life.

  • Hi Bible Club Family-

Wow!!! 8 weeks passed on so quickly. Can you believe we’re in week 9 of the Bible Bee 8 week Summer Study already !!! we’re in extra time!!! Bible study can never really be over, can it?

Kudos to all participants, children, parents, and support folks for a job well done.

It’s been an exciting 8 + weeks of getting to know God more so we can make Him Known through Bible Study. I love hearing all your memory verses and virtually feeling the effort that you are putting in. God bless you and your families in all things for all you have put in.

I have seen the Proclaim Day questions and know you all can do well in it if you were paying attention while on the conference calls.

Continue to pay close attention to your 1) study of James, 2) Discovery Journal notes and practice questions, 3) Cross Reference lists from your dashboards (I sent those), 4) Greek word study using the list I sent you
(resent below) or from your DJ’s along with research via blueletterbible.org. Lastly, 5) your Memory verses are very important.

If you do all mentioned above you will do well in all the tests starting from the Proclaim Day test, Local Qualifying test & Nationals. However, remember the most important thing is to study and allow the Holy Spirit to give you understanding so you can apply it every day of your lives and influence others to do the same.

    Proclaim Day Week!
Due to schedule conflicts, we will have 1:1 Proclaim Day celebrations (whatever works right!!) and a group celebration when everyone is available probably after qualifiers.
We started with Ruth (junior) who passed the Proclaim Day test with flying colors. Soooo Proud of you. More victories and success testimonies to come between now and August 9th.

Our last Monday meeting on 7/30 was Great!!! Way to go! remembering those Greek words on the conference call. Don’t forget the key things in James 5 too from our study.. my summary is that our primary focus and trust should be in God not material things and we can Pray about anything believing in faith. what is your summary?
**keep posting comments or questions via this forum.

    Key dates to remember-
    – Summer Study: June 4–August 10
    – Proclaim Day*: Schedule your 1:1 test time between August 1–9 (we will celebrate and proclaim together after the schedule has cleared after local qualifiers)
    – Qualifying Test: August 10–13
****(Practice Test available on your Dashboard 7/30 -8/3)
    – Stick Universe’s Chicago Bible Bee: November Date TBA (around the holidays)
    – National Bible Bee Competition (NBBC): December 3–6 (in San Antonio)

**we will have a meeting at 7pm on Monday as usual by Gods grace as we round up Proclaim Day tests and prepare for local qualifiers.

    Take care and God Bless

  • Saw this thought on the Bible Bee google + community and remember saying something similar to Ruth and praying for her and her family just before she took her Proclaim Day test.. we’re all learning the same material and no human being is there yet regardless of whether adult or Pastor so keep learning and growing as God’s Holy Spirit gives you wisdom, knowledge and understanding of His WORD.

Check this Bible Bee encouragement note out-
Hi guys! I know that, as we are heading into Proclaim Day with the Local Qualifying test just around the corner, it can start to get pretty discouraging thinking about all the things you haven’t studied. But really, isn’t that one of the beauties of God’s Word! No matter how much you know, how long you’ve studied, how deep you dive, God’s Word is greater still. What else would you expect from a Book written by an Eternal God? We can study it all our days and still never discover every treasure contained within its depth.

That is such an exciting thought! But also kind of terrifying when it comes to the Local Competition… Don’t let it deter you! Whether you’re feeling pretty good about your preparation or still plugging away on those cross references, I encourage you to just take a moment to step back and consider one precious truth you have discovered during your time studying James. Whether from the Thrive study, the memory verses, cross references, or something else, I would love to hear something the Lord has taught you over the summer!

Let’s go into the competition with our hearts focused on the true prize of Bible Bee…”knowing God’s Word, and making Him known”!

  • WOW!!! 8 Weeks went by so quickly. The leadership team of the Stick Universe Bible Club is so proud of all our members. You all worked so hard studying with all your Bible Bee tools including the Bible Bee Discovery Journal, using the Blue Letter Bible website, Scripture Typer, learning new Greek words and most importantly hiding the WORD of God in your heart by consistently joining the conference calls for bible study, studying the Bible and meditating on your own and memorizing so many Bible passages.

May God bless you fully for your commitment and cause you to excel in all that you do. May His Holy Spirit fill you be upon you and enable you to apply all that you have learned and be a light that shines for Him everywhere you go so that He may be glorified.

As we wait for the results of the qualifying test from the National Bible Bee today, we hope and pray that we make it to Nationals but want to remind you that there are no losers when Gods word is hidden in your heart. Regardless of result, the Bible Bee Summer Study is a win-win for you and your family and we plan to have a local competition (Date TBD) around the holidays so don’t rest on your oars.

Remember that we are Bible students for Life and the Bible Club is all year round. there is still so much more to learn. We will adjust our schedule as the school year starts so we can all continue to participate. We will make announcements about the next phase of Bible club during our next meeting on Monday at 7pm by Gods grace.

God bless you and your families with all you need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Amen

From your Stick Universe Bible Club Family.

Credit goes to Brooke- Copied from the Bible Bee community. Hopefully, you’ll join the community for the next sets so I don’t have to copy and paste:

Hello everyone! So, I made these review quizzes for our group, but was not confident enough to post them on here… but I got some interest in it and as I was sending out the PMs I thought it’d be better to just post them up here, because I’m sure everyone probably wants one since there’s not any out yet.. I’ll probably just post them every Friday. I chose to put it in doc form for two reasons: 1. I can NOT post a link… :/ 2. They won’t get buried and will be easily accessible hopefully.. so, if this is something you’re interested in, you can check here every Friday night/Saturday morning, and I will hopefully be prompt enough to keep adding the new ones!

    So, Here is unit 1-
